“Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.” Matthew 25:40
Lighthouse Romania (Casa Luminii Radovanu) exists to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community by housing, feeding, clothing, befriending and educating those that God sends our way. Our purpose is to draw people to experience the abundant life that comes through a relationship with Jesus. We are a non-profit supporting ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist church located in southern Romania (45 minutes south of Bucharest) since 2012.
Our ministry is inspired by Matthew 25:40 where Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.” We currently:

Our ministry is inspired by Matthew 25:40 where Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.” We currently:
- Provide long-term shelter for 22 homeless elderly and adult orphans, bringing hope, purpose, and a sense of family to these women.
- Distribute food, clothing, school supplies, books, and assistance to those in our community and surrounding regions.
- Build bridges and disciple community children through our children's center (Casuta Luminii Centru International) which is currently offering free beginner and advanced English classes, tutoring, music lessons and more, to over 40 children.
- Collaborate with our local church on programs such as vacation Bible schools, developing Pathfinder and Adventurer programs, and Bible studies to bridge between the academic and the spiritual.

Testimonies

"Donita was sleeping on a park bench, before coming to Lighthouse Romania (Casa Luminii). Chained by addictions to drinking and smoking, she had nowhere to go. And she certainly didn't want to go to a place where she couldn't even smoke! But Donita was desperate, and she gave the home a chance. At Casa Luminii, Donita not only found a family, but she decided to join the family of God. She is one of more than 10 residents who have been baptized through the ministry! The Lord has helped her overcome her addictions, and she now spends her free time reading the Bible and writing Bible studies."

How can I help?
Want to help? Here are a few ways you can join in.
- Pray. People wonder how this ministry does what it does, with such a small team and limited resources! The answer is only God. Pray that God would continue to guide the ministry, send laborers, and lead us those He has for us to help.
- Volunteer. Whether for a day or a year, we need your help! Are you nearby? Our residents need people to simply listen, participate, and be a friend. Your presence means the world to them. Do you have a church group? Consider coming on a mission trip! There are always projects to be done, and we have facilities for your team. Considering mission service? We are seeking to expand our team with dedicated staff members who share a heart for the mission. Contact us for more information.
- Donate. Whether money, clothing, cleaning supplies, first aid supplies, kids toys, or non-perishable food, your donations make a difference. Once we had a church children's program, and the community children had no clothes to wear! But just a week before, a container full of children's clothing arrived from the United States, from a woman who two months before had felt impressed to send it. Before we call, God answers!
- Sponsor. It costs about $350 USD/month to house a resident in our homes. Thanks to self-supporting practices, this is less than 1/4 the cost of other places in Romania. Still, some of our residents have little to no income. We desire to help those in need, whether financially able or not. Your sponsorship gives someone in need the gift of home and family.
